There's not a lot of things one can do to decorate the bathroom and that's where getting the right bathroom curtains for windows can really help your room stand out. Once you have chosen your general decorating theme then you want to really put some thought into the window treatments because bathrooms are so small that the window itself really stands out.

There is one easy way to go and, of course, that is to get a matching shower curtain and window curtain. This will help tie the whole room together in a cohesive theme, but it's not always possible to find a matching set in the colors/theme that you want so you might be left to pick a window treatment that compliments instead of matches.

When choosing bathroom curtains for windows, you want to take the size and shape of the window into consideration. Most bathrooms have smaller windows and for this, a café style curtain can add a splash of color as well as some privacy. If you want a more open look to the window and want to let the maximum amount of light in, you might opt for just a valance to cover the top.

If you have a fancy bathroom with large windows, then you might even consider drapes or long curtains or sheers. Either way you want it to be something that matches the colors you have chosen for the bathroom.
If you have a certain theme in your bathroom, such as tropical fish, or palm trees, you might choose curtains for your window that have this theme on them. However, you want to be careful that you don't make the room too busy. If you have patterned wallpaper then, it's probably best just to go with a solid color curtain but be sure to go with a color that matches one of the colors in the wallpaper. Also, a solid color shower curtain in the same shade will look nice.

Choosing bathroom curtains for windows doesn't have to be a big ordeal. Just know what your decor and window measurements are ahead of time and you should have a good idea of the type of window treatment you need. Take a swatch from the wallpaper or shower curtain (or paint sample if you have solid painted walls) with you when you go shopping and try to match the colors in your curtains to what you already have. Remember always to be consistent in design and color and you're sure to have a bathroom that will be the showplace of the neighborhood.
